The Creative Scarecrows,
Seeking Alternatives to Propane Cannons
in Whatcom County

A new group called the
Creative Scarecrows
has come together in Whatcom County,
in Washington State. The group is pushing for alternatives to
propane cannons (also known as air cannons) in their community.
Their approach is to work with community leaders and farmers to try to come up
with effective bird control strategies other than cannons.
They held an information session about alternative bird scare techniques
in Lynden Washington,
on March 3rd, 2008.
The results of their meeting were summarized in the Bellingham Herald, as
