Dear Mr. Bell,
The article on B.C. blueberry growers in today's Vancouver Sun draws attention to the acute problem in my neighbourhood of southwest Cloverdale of propane cannons. With more and more homeowners moving into this eastern part of Surrey, the battle becomes more pitched. So many of us are dumbfounded that our governments would allow farmer gun blasts every minute from dawn to dusk and ignore our basic right to live in relative peace. The sound blasts are so loud they rattle our windows. Thank you for stating that you will '"look at all options," most especially getting rid of the cannons. When I built my house there were no blueberry farms nearby. Now I am surrounded, and it seems so unfair that my life and that of my family and neighbours can be so adversely affected by a few farmers who turn on the cannons then return to their homes elsewhere in Surrey.
Yours truly,
J. M, Surrey
