Dear Sir,
I have spent my entire day talking to government ministries, phoning my town
hall, the Regional District Office, driving around the cherry fields, talking
to neighbors, due to bird cannons firing off, starting at 4:30 am!
How is it that ONE farmer can be allowed to wake up an entire community at 4:30
am? How reasonable is this?
Myself, and many others in the community are very disturbed that one individual
can impact hundreds of people, by waking them at such an unreasonable hour.
Since when did cherries become so much more important than people and their
health? There is no balance, no common sense.
Does it make any sense that because I'm so tired from being woke up at 4:30 am,
(but, still have to function, carry on doing with my day, with the jobs that I
must do), that I, for example, get in a traffic accident, and kill or hurt
someone?
It is beyond ridiculous that these farmers are permitted to use these
guns/cannons, and especially at these hours.
In our very inconsiderate, discourteous society, it is obvious that people like
this farmer, need very strict laws that prevent them from impacting so many
people, in such a selfish way.
Please respond.
Kind regards,
S. L.
Osoyoos, BC.
