The Whatcom County "Good Management Practices" Guidelines Committee of
blueberry growers, residents, County Extension Service and Whatcom Farm Friends
have finalized interim guidelines for the use of propane cannons and other loud
auditory devices (LADS). We will revisit the guidelines at the beginning of
next year to discuss necessary changes.
The guidelines are posted on the
Whatcom Farm Friends
website.
We have also been contacted by public radio who would like to do a radio
program on this noisy issue. Probably in late July/August when the berries are
ripe and the cannons are blasting..
